Key information

Moonlight Kids and Akupara Games have released Echo Weaver, a "space parkour detective" game, on PC and consoles. The title features a unique time-loop mechanic where the world resets, challenging players to navigate an open world without traditional ability gates.

The game replaces standard progression with knowledge-based exploration. Because the world resets, the team implemented a narrative system where the protagonist retains memories across loops. To manage the lack of permanent shortcuts, developers used concealment techniques, hiding passages behind foreground art to create secrets.

Technically, the game utilizes a chunk-streaming architecture. Upon a loop reset, the game discards the volatile "essentials" scene and reloads only necessary data. While the team initially struggled with performance due to uncompressed assets and complex lighting, they optimized the experience using Unity's Frame Debugger and by consolidating sprite layers.

Echo Weaver is available now on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. The developers emphasize that building for performance early and leaning into studio strengths were critical lessons learned during the project's development in Unity 6.
