Wizards of the Coast has officially unveiled its latest Universes Beyond project for the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop roleplaying game: a Star Wars collaboration. Confirmed at NYCC 2026, the announcement includes a new adventure module titled Star Wars: Tyro Squadron and a forthcoming Core Rules expansion set in the Star Wars universe.
The Tyro Squadron adventure places players in the role of a secret Rebel crew operating during the Original Trilogy. Participants will engage in daring missions and explore new galactic regions while Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia conduct their own separate campaigns. The module aims to emphasize the gritty underbelly of the setting rather than focusing on the primary heroic figures.
While specific mechanics remain undisclosed, the new Core Rules expansion is expected to be substantial in scope. It will introduce fresh methods for playing traditional D&D classes, though the integration of iconic elements like lightsabers and blasters into the high-fantasy system remains a point of curiosity for observers.
