Wizards of the Coast has officially unveiled its next Universes Beyond project for the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop role-playing game: a collaboration with Star Wars. Following an initial tease at Gen Con in July, the company confirmed at NYCC 2026 that the partnership includes a new adventure module titled Star Wars: Tyro Squadron and a Core Rules expansion.
The Tyro Squadron adventure is set during the Original Trilogy era. Players will join a secret Rebel crew to execute daring missions and influence the Rebellion's narrative while Luke and Leia conduct their own operations elsewhere in the galaxy. The campaign appears to emphasize the grittier aspects of the setting, similar to the previously released Star Wars: Zero Company.
While the upcoming Core Rules expansion is expected to be substantial, offering new ways to play classic classes and various story hooks, specific mechanical details remain scarce. The integration of iconic elements like lightsabers and blasters into the high-fantasy framework of D&D remains a point of curiosity for observers.
