Key information
Publisher Shoreline Games and independent developer David Konecny have announced that the first-person psychological horror game Dreadline Express will officially launch on PC Steam on October 16, 2026. A playable demo is currently available for players to experience.
The game is set aboard a steam train traversing a scorched earth as the very last train carrying humanity's remaining survivors through a broken world filled with Lovecraftian horror elements. Players will explore the train, where every car hides a puzzle and every passenger holds their own stories, motives, and secrets.
Dreadline Express combines suspenseful deduction and exploration, deliberately featuring various puzzles rather than simply guiding players on where to go next. Developer David Konecny stated that the game is designed to give players the freedom to exercise curiosity through observation, connecting clues, and understanding their surroundings.
The title incorporates a card-based narrative system where discoveries, encounters, and achievements are translated into cards stored in an evolving photo album. This mechanism helps players uncover relationships between clues, formulate new plans, and unlock previously impossible paths. Players can determine allies and enemies while overcoming obstacles through force, strategy, or deduction, with multiple solutions available.
