Capcom has announced that Dragon's Dogma 2 major 4.0 update will arrive on October 9. The update coincides with the launch of Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, which will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Switch 2 alongside the base game and expansion together.

The upcoming patch introduces Hard Mode, a new Orienteer Pawn specialization, and features supporting the Dark Arisen Expansion DLC. Additionally, interacting with a forgotten riftstone will increase the received rift crystals from 30 to 90.

Technical enhancements include official support for enhanced PSSR on PlayStation 5 Pro, the addition of FSR 3 Frame Generation, an update to DLSS Super Resolution version 4.5, and expanded DLSS Frame Generation capabilities supporting multi-frame generation. The update also enables DualSense Wireless Controller adaptive triggers, vibration, and motion sensor functionality.
