Key information

Minecraft Dungeons II launches on September 29 as an action-RPG and dungeon crawler, introducing a new dimension to explore called the Sift. Preview coverage notes that the game runs on Unreal Engine 5 and features character creation, detailed equipment, and the ability to jump.

Unlike the first game's mission-based structure, Minecraft Dungeons II features a seamless Overworld with distinct biomes, including the Howling Woods, Frozen Highlands, and Rainy Plains, allowing travel without loading screens. Players can explore freely, undertake secondary quests, and fight enemies such as zombies, creepers, and skeletons.

Replayable events and bosses, such as the witch in the northern Howling Woods, can be reactivated using nearby boss totems to farm rare gear and loot. Dungeons and rifts also provide enchantment books and echo shards to upgrade merchants, blacksmiths, and equipment.

To navigate the immense world, players can utilize fast travel via minecart stations and teleportation statues, alongside a temporary guidance trail activated by pressing the left stick. Respawn features send defeated players back to Brave Haven, from where a teleportation statue can return them to the nearest activated sanctuary.

Minecraft Dungeons II will be available on September 29 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, through the cloud, and included in Game Pass, supporting Xbox Play Anywhere. It is also available on Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
