Key information
On United States time October 6, 2026, NVIDIA released its official latest graphics driver, GeForce 617.42 Driver. This WHQL-certified version brings support for new games and major downloadable content, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Star Wars: Galactic Racer.
According to the details, these titles support DLSS 4.5 super resolution, frame generation, and dynamic frame generation technologies. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 additionally supports NVIDIA Reflex for latency reduction, while Star Wars: Galactic Racer utilizes environment lighting enhanced by DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction.
The new driver also provides support for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and its Sim Update 7, which includes DLSS 4.5 compatibility. GeForce RTX 50 series users can utilize dynamic frame generation, with NVIDIA testing showing frame rates increasing proportionally to frame generation multipliers, such as achieving up to a 6.2x frame rate with a 6x setting.
Additionally, the GeForce 617.42 Driver fixes a previous issue where Assassin's Creed Shadows could crash to the desktop after prolonged play following an update to the GeForce 616.56 Driver. The 990.85 MB driver is available for Windows 11 and 64-bit Windows 10, for both desktop and notebook PCs.
