Paradox Interactive and Tantalus Media have announced Cities: Skylines - Expanded Edition for Nintendo Switch 2. Developed by Colossal Order, this city-building simulator is scheduled for release on October 28, priced at 49 euros. The title includes ten expansion packs and content bundles, such as After Dark, Snowfall, Green Cities, Sunset Harbor, and Map Pack 3.
The game introduces significant technical enhancements, offering two distinct visual modes. A performance mode targets 60 FPS using image upscaling and adjusted graphics, while a quality mode prioritizes visual fidelity at 30 FPS. Additionally, the game supports keyboard and mouse input alongside standard console controls.
Gameplay mechanics are expanded to allow construction across 25 tiles, a notable increase from the nine-tile limit in the original version. Players gain access to a new map editor, precision placement tools, distance indicators, and a quick-selection system. Environmental controls now allow real-time adjustments to weather and time of day.
Owners of the original Cities: Skylines on the first Nintendo Switch are eligible for a 70% discount on the Expanded Edition. This promotional offer remains valid until April 28, 2027.
