CD Projekt Red stated that its patching work for the newly-released Remastered version of The Witcher 3 is ongoing. In an X post, the studio outlined that the next update aims to bring further performance improvements on PS5, visual adjustments, and voiceover audio fixes on consoles.

The Remastered release brings an extensive overhaul, acting as a 3.0 release that updates animations, skills, textures, and environments. Alongside these changes, the update raises minimum system requirements for older hardware and includes cross-platform mod support developed alongside mod.io.

Community reception remains divided following stylistic complaints about the game being overly bright, which prompted prior lighting hotfixes. Players have also expressed frustration over priorities given to Twitch Drops and Ukrainian localisation, while console players noted a lack of options to roll back game versions.

CD Projekt Red aims to modernize the RPG ahead of a single-player expansion titled Songs of the Past arriving next year. The Remastered edition has reinvigorated sales and brought back players in large numbers.
