Key information
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled for release on October 23, 2026, for PlayStation 5, with pre-orders available now. The game includes a campaign, multiplayer, and the extraction-shooter mode known as DMZ. Players can manage their progress and gear through the Forward Operating Base, which serves as the central command post in Hajin and expands with over a dozen unlockable stations.
Within the Forward Operating Base, users have immediate access to operators, DMZ assignments, a storage and equipment area, a shooting range, and a heavy military transporter. As operations are completed in Hajin, players can unlock additional upgrades like a 3D printer for crafting equipment, a weapon smith, a daily-rotation merchant, a bounty leaderboard, a boss board for tracking high-value targets, a dog-tag display, and an independent DMZ progression path ranging from level 1 to 70.
Players can choose from three distinct deployment options including story missions, dynamic operations that grant DMZ cash and XP with supply drops, and free exploration of Hajin City. Additional rewards and XP are earned through boss hunts against lieutenants and commanders, thorough looting, and achieving high ratings in the after action report. Furthermore, various vehicles are available for travel across land, water, and air, though areas feature specific threat levels where excessive noise triggers intense enemy responses.
