Key information

Producer Takeshi Yamanaka has announced that Phoenix Cyclops will arrive in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls on November 2. As the first DLC character included in the Year 1 pass, this version of Scott Summers features voice acting by Ray Chase and aims to offer a fresh, unexpected take on the character compared to his traditional appearances in previous Marvel fighting games.

Phoenix Cyclops is designed as a balanced fighter capable of both long-range and close-quarters combat. Players utilize Optic Blasts to accumulate solar fragments; collecting four allows the character to transform into his Phoenix form. This state provides a significant power boost, inspired by the Avengers vs. X-Men storyline, though it carries risks such as reduced health.

To address fan preferences for traditional aesthetics, the developer is releasing Classic and Legacy DLC costumes alongside the character. These outfits are intended to honor the character's long history while allowing players to customize his appearance. Additionally, attendees of EVO France, held from October 9 to 11, will have the opportunity to play as Phoenix Cyclops before his official release.

New players can currently access the game via a discounted Ultimate Edition on the PlayStation Store. Furthermore, PlayStation Plus subscribers are eligible for a 3-hour game trial starting immediately. These initiatives coincide with the ongoing support for the title following its launch nearly two months ago.
