Key information
Blizzard executives Holly Longdale and Clay Stone recently addressed community feedback regarding the ongoing World of Warcraft: Eternity beta. A significant clarification involves the controversial GDKP (G-run) ban, which the team confirmed will be restricted to North American and European servers, leaving Asian and other regions unaffected by this policy.
The development team is actively refining the game's technical and visual elements. In response to player feedback regarding the new Ethereal race, Blizzard is currently developing an SD standard-resolution model to better integrate with the game's classic visual environment, as some players felt the existing HD version appeared inconsistent with the surroundings.
Regarding gameplay mechanics, the team defended recent adjustments to dungeon experience rewards. Clay Stone explained that these changes aim to encourage players to explore the open world rather than relying solely on dungeon grinding, which was never the intended primary leveling path for the original 60-level experience.
While the game utilizes a server-less architecture to foster social interaction, cross-region play remains unavailable at launch due to technical challenges like latency. The team continues to monitor player behavior and server performance, emphasizing that their goal is to maintain a cohesive, social-focused experience for all participants.
