Key information
Xbox CEO Asha Sharma recently addressed staff during an internal town hall, stating that the division has begun to return to growth following an all-time low. According to reports, Sharma noted that the company is currently seeing performance levels two to three times higher than previous periods and expects this upward trend to persist.
The growth is attributed to strong launches for titles including Gears of War: E-Day, Minecraft Dungeons 2, and World of Warcraft Forever. Furthermore, Sharma highlighted that the first-party segment has recovered and user engagement has stabilized after experiencing declines earlier this year.
Regarding future hardware, Sharma described Project Helix as a family of devices rather than a single console, emphasizing that the company will focus on both manufacturing and strategic partnerships. She also confirmed that Xbox remains committed to the current console generation by investing in cloud gaming and the Play Anywhere initiative.
Amidst ongoing restructuring that included a 20% workforce reduction and various studio reorganizations, Sharma explicitly denied rumors that Xbox is for sale. She emphasized that the company is focused on finding the right operating models and partnerships to ensure long-term success.
