Key information

Developer Embark is offering a four-day free trial for extraction shooter Arc Raiders to coincide with the release of Frozen Trail, described as the game's biggest update yet. The trial period is scheduled from 8th to 12th October, allowing users on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox to download and play the game for free.

According to the studio, the trial grants access to the full game without any locked content. This includes immediate technical access to the new Pendola Pass map, though players will either need to progress through levels to unlock it or join a squad with a friend who already has it available.

The Frozen Trail expansion introduces a new map, multiple new Arc enemies, fresh weapons, and gadgets. Furthermore, it brings the first major overhaul to the metagame by adjusting crafting and ammo, and introducing a more standard battle pass.

Immediately following the conclusion of the free trial, Arc Raiders will host a dedicated PvE test from 13th to 20th October. This test disables player-on-player damage to cater to players who have requested a non-combat player experience since the title launched.
