Key information

Xbox has officially announced the creation of XP, a new division dedicated to expanding its gaming franchises into broader entertainment sectors. Led by newly appointed President Kayleen Walters, the division aims to connect players and fans globally through diverse media and experiences.

The XP division consolidates existing capabilities into four primary investment pillars: Xbox Pictures for linear storytelling, Xbox Products for consumer merchandise, Xbox Places for live events and attractions, and Xbox Partnerships for brand collaborations.

Kayleen Walters brings extensive industry experience to the role, including 13 years at Lucasfilm. During her time at Mojang, she oversaw the growth of Minecraft to over 425 million units sold and managed the successful launch of A Minecraft Movie, which achieved the largest opening weekend for a video game adaptation.

While the division will explore new avenues for engagement, Xbox maintains that high-quality games remain the core foundation of its business. XP will collaborate with internal studios and external partners to ensure these new initiatives remain authentic to the original franchises.
