Key information
At the OSAKA INDIE GAMES SUMMIT 2026 held in Osaka on October 3 and 4, 2026, Mizukagami Studio exhibited a demo of their upcoming PC adventure game, Serafine Goes to the Sky on Steam.
Players take on the role of Serafine, piloting an airship to complete missions such as cargo deliveries and defeating sky pirates to earn money for upgrades, expanding their exploration into uncharted airspace.
The game features a unique visual blend of hand-drawn sprite animations and 3D scenes inspired by the FPS The Citadel. Developer Mizukagami noted that airship movement is kept mostly 2D to maintain casual accessibility and highlight the 2D artwork.
Steering involves managing ship inertia, while dogfights require calculating gravity-affected ballistic arcs and leading moving targets, bringing realistic combat tactics into a soft, hand-drawn steampunk world.
The developer plans for the full game to span roughly five distinct areas and targets a 2027 release window, with the Steam store page currently available for wishlisting.
