Key information

Studio K Games announced that a trial version of the forensic mystery adventure game Bone to Pick will be released on Steam on October 8, 2026, as reported on October 5, 2026.

The mystery adventure takes place in a Washington, D.C. forensic research institute, where players assume the role of a new trainee examining anonymous bones to uncover victim identities and case truths.

Gameplay blends visual novel conversations with 14 forensic mini-games including bone washing, isotope analysis via lasers, diatom collection, DNA separation, and facial reconstruction, alongside crime scene searches and suspect interrogations.

The trial features the complete first case titled Blown-Up Car, allowing players to investigate a Washington, D.C. explosion, gather evidence, and track down the culprit, with save data carrying over to the full game.

The full release is planned for PC via Steam in early 2027 priced at 905 yen including tax, featuring seven total cases and taking about 30 minutes per case while avoiding grotesque imagery with a mild illustrative style.
