Key information
On October 3, 2026, independent development team TastyPotato released a playable demo for its upcoming PC horror adventure game, Bet You Won't, on Steam. The release date for the full game remains unannounced, and the software currently does not support Japanese text display.
Players step into the role of a live-streaming content creator residing in a town plagued by a string of serial murders, while simultaneously becoming the target of a killer. The core gameplay revolves around receiving suspicious packages daily, inspecting strange items, and deciding which boxes to open while avoiding fatal hazards.
Death is integrated directly into the gameplay mechanics rather than triggering a traditional game over state. When a player perishes, a new streamer inherits their remaining assets and determination to carry on the investigation. In addition to opening parcels, players must manage their live broadcasts to keep viewers engaged. Higher viewer excitement yields increased donations that function as in-game funds for the investigation.
The mystery expands beyond conventional serial killings, incorporating supernatural elements such as the resurrection of half-corpses as seen in promotional footage. Each case features multiple resolution paths, allowing player choices and investigation techniques to alter the narrative trajectory and lead to different endings. The currently available demo includes both the prologue and chapter one of the game.
