Key information
More than ten years after its initial release on the PlayStation 4, Hideo Kojima's famous horror demo P.T. has been remade from the ground up for PC by a solo programmer. The complete first version is currently available for download on Github.
The developer built the project alone during free time to ensure the demo continues to exist rather than remaining trapped on old consoles. To prevent complications with the copyright holder Konami, the download file does not include original assets.
Transitioning to PC introduces several technical improvements. Framerates are no longer capped at 30 fps and now run above 60 fps. Additionally, the recreation supports any screen size, keyboard and mouse inputs, Xbox and PS5 DualSense controllers, alongside graphics enhancement technologies like DLSS and FSR.
P.T. originally debuted in August 2014 as a playable teaser for Silent Hills, a canceled horror project involving Hideo Kojima, Guillermo del Toro, and Norman Reedus. Konami canceled the title in April 2015 and removed the demo from the PlayStation store.
