Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve released globally on (2) platforms including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and STEAM, marking the first mainline entry in the acclaimed franchise in seven years. Developed by Bandai Namco Aces Inc. using Unreal Engine 5 and proprietary technology, the title delivers realistic aerial combat and features the largest online multiplayer experience in the history of the series.
Set within a fictional universe of the series, the narrative plunges players into a war-torn world where the Free Republic of Usea has been occupied. Players assume the role of the ace pilot designated "Wings of Theve", fighting alongside Joker Squadron members Baxter, Tasha, and Costa to liberate their homeland from the invading Republic of Sarto.
The game's online multiplayer introduces a virtual lobby airbase supporting up to 100 cross-platform players worldwide. Modes include Co-Op Assault, Co-Op Warfare, time-limited emergency missions, and PvP events, accompanied by a PREMIUM ACE PASS that unlocks a season's worth of content including aircraft paint jobs, avatar costumes, and the playable aircraft ADFX-02 Morgan -PIXY-.
