Key information
On October 5, 2026, Guillemot's gaming peripherals brand Thrustmaster announced the T-GT III steering controller, compatible with PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, with a release date of December 3. The product features an integrated wheel and drive unit combined with a load cell pedal set, marking the first time Thrustmaster has paired its Gran Turismo product line with load cell pedals.
Officially licensed by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the racing simulation game Gran Turismo 7, the T-GT III also coincides with Thrustmaster becoming an official partner of the Gran Turismo World Series esports competition. A major feature of the hardware is its Direct Axial Drive motor structure inspired by hypercars, delivering a continuous torque of 5N·m and a peak instantaneous torque of 10N·m. This design aims to prevent output capping under high loads while offering low latency and rapid response.
The controller incorporates proprietary HARMONY technology to generate high-frequency torque, enabling force feedback effects such as GEAR JOLT, which reproduces shift impacts, and ENGINE ROAR, which causes the unit to resonate with engine speeds when played with Gran Turismo 7. The leather-finished steering wheel features four rotary encoders around the hub assigned for Gran Turismo 7 functions. Additionally, Thrustmaster plans to update the software and firmware for the T-GT III in alignment with future updates to Gran Turismo 7.
