Overwatch Season 5, titled "Grim Sanguine," has officially commenced, marking the final chapter of Talon's dominance and revealing dark secrets following a prison break triggered by the eruption of Mount Grim. The Halloween-themed update introduces the new support hero Sanguine, the escort map Watchpoint: Mount Grim, a limited-time mode called "Mystic Tales: Graveyard Carnival," and a dark battle pass filled with rewards.
As a new support hero, Sanguine wields a delicate and dark kit capable of manipulating health pools. Sanguine heals teammates at medium-to-long range using the Eternal Scepter, empowers the team with bat-shaped drones, and can reallocate life forces between allies and enemies during critical moments.
The update brings massive hero changes, notably transitioning Sombra from the damage role to support, allowing her to heal designated allies briefly while cloaked and reduce enemy damage and healing. Additionally, Roadhog receives a new ability called Junk Compressor and fires two consecutive bullets per shot.
Running alongside the new season is the Overwatch and Shadow Monarch collaboration event, available until Tuesday, October 27, which introduces five limited-time hero skins blending dark fantasy and combat animation aesthetics inspired by Solo Leveling.
