Key information

Independent game developer Chocolate Dungeon has released a new trailer for the psychological horror and hotel management game Hotel Is Hungry, showcasing the appearances of various guests.

Set after a destructive solar flare awakens a radiation nightmare that twists humanity into terrifying forms, players take on the role of a receptionist. You must decide who lives to see the dawn and who is sacrificed to the darkness deep within the hotel, which is a living, breathing monster that must be kept secret from every guest.

Gameplay involves evaluating guests each morning and deciding whether to accept or reject them, though you can only reject one person per day. Guests carry identities such as victims, sheriffs, and murderers. Using a Tetris-style arrangement system, players assign rooms while accommodating special requests, and manage nightly power distribution to determine which unlit rooms become the hotel's prey.

Players can peek through door peepholes if guests refuse to communicate, fulfill food and drink requests like hot coffee, cold beer, or microwaved meals, and run to a brightly lit bar for safety if attacked. Earned money can be used to unlock new floors and rooms, play mini-games to boost income, and upgrade generators and flashlights.
