At OSAKA INDIE GAMES SUMMIT 2026, held on October 3 and 4, 2026, at Congress Square Grand Front Osaka, developer Metarustrike showcased Custom Mecha Musume Fighters. This PC 3D action title centers on customizing plastic model kits of young girls, combining various parts and armaments for one-on-one skirmishes inside obstacle-filled arenas.

Director Carbuncle and programmer Yuki Yamada explained that the project stems from a passion for Custom Robo and mecha plastic models. The core concept revolves around designing an ultimate armored figure and deploying it into combat. Players select bodies, armaments for both hands, back artillery, and leg components. Each weapon displays statistics covering attack power, projectile velocity, tracking capabilities, and fire rate, altering both appearance and hue when swapped.

During bouts, users navigate via jumping and aerial dashes while managing three distinct armaments. Right-hand projectiles travel linearly, whereas left-hand ordinance follows an arc, creating diverse attack ranges. The three-person team utilizes Unreal Engine's Mutable feature to streamline adding new gear. While the initial trial version features player-versus-player bouts and cosmetic-only leg parts, future plans involve solo modes, performance attributes for legs affecting movement speed, color customization, and expanding beyond the current roster of three mechanical heroines.
