Key information

At the OSAKA INDIE GAMES SUMMIT 2026 event held in Umeda, Osaka on October 3 and 4, 2026, indie studio ARTIFACTS showcased a demo of their upcoming title Magic Potion Liberators. The game is positioned as the fifth and final installment in the Magic Potion series, focusing on Claudia's story following Pastel's conclusion in the previous entry, Magic Potion Millionaire.

Transitioning from the side-view action of Millionaire, the new game introduces 360-degree shooting against hordes of enemies. Developer Hikari Itsuki explained that melee slashes can deflect white projectiles fired by enemies, creating a high-risk, high-reward combat loop where players lure bullets close before reflecting them for massive boss damage.

The release incorporates rogue-lite progression mechanics. Players can select potions during runs for temporary boosts, and spend gathered gems and mana at a base camp for permanent upgrades, ensuring accessibility even for players who struggle with action titles.

Originally announced around 2023 with an initial 2024 target, the launch was delayed because the creator packed too much into this finale. The PC version on Steam is planned for 2027 with an estimated playtime of 10 to 20 hours, while a Nintendo Switch version is also being adjusted.
