SEGA is celebrating the 35th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog with a special world tour visiting various countries, including Thailand. The event, titled “SONIC 35th Official Fan Meeting Tour in Bangkok,” took place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Cloud 11 project. Although small in scale, the exclusive gathering offered an intimate atmosphere for pre-registered fans who attended with full merchandise and cosplay.
The event featured two prominent guests: creative director and long-time character artist Kazuyuki Hoshino, and music director Tomoya Oタニ, who has composed music for the series for over 20 years. They hosted a discussion covering the evolution of Sonic across the 1990s, 2000s, and later eras, sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes details. Additionally, the creators shared travel highlights from Thailand and revealed a special artwork depicting Sonic eating Tom Yum Goong alongside sticky rice with mango and Thai tea.
During the presentations, SEGA showcased trailers and announced special upcoming collaborations with local brands Carnival and Ari Running, with products scheduled for release around early 2027. The event concluded with souvenir distributions and a lucky draw that awarded three attendees the actual display sketches from the venue.
