Key information
Developer 2nd Law Games, led by Martin Cremerius-Gauer, has revealed two upcoming projects currently in development. These titles, Self Simulated: Pinball Anomaly and Tavern Farkle GB, are being built using GB Studio for the Game Boy and Game Boy Color platforms.
Self Simulated: Pinball Anomaly is a custom-engine pinball game for the Game Boy Color that serves as a spin-off to the platformer Self Simulated. Players control flippers to battle waves of enemy robots and bosses while attempting to rescue the protagonist, Self, from a corrupted digital simulation created by the AI M-Iss1-NgN-0. The project, which began development in early 2026, draws inspiration from titles such as Devil's Crush and Pokémon Pinball.
Tavern Farkle GB is a push-your-luck dice game for the Game Boy where players roll six dice to accumulate points. The game features three modes: Quick Match against various villagers, a Devil's Dice Tournament against six unique opponents, and a 2-player local mode. Players can collect different dice sets to use in future matches, with the tournament mode requiring a full restart upon any loss.
While a specific release date for Self Simulated: Pinball Anomaly remains to be determined, the developer has established a Kickstarter campaign for the project. Both titles are currently listed on Itch.io, with Tavern Farkle GB emphasizing quick, accessible gameplay sessions.
