Key information
Developer Boxy.Poly announced on October 8, 2026, that a demo for its upcoming PC driving game, SHIFU: Traffic Masters, is now available on Steam. The title draws inspiration from classic games like Midtown Madness and Driver, set within a city modeled after 1990s China.
The game focuses on utility vehicles rather than supercars, featuring trucks, taxis, buses, and police cars. Players must perform specific tasks based on their vehicle, such as transporting fragile cargo like glass or livestock in trucks, where reckless driving can cause goods to spill.
Each vehicle offers distinct handling and weight, requiring players to adapt their driving style. Bus drivers must adhere to strict schedules amidst changing traffic, while police officers must pursue suspects through crowded streets. Additionally, players can engage in street races where knowledge of shortcuts and back alleys is essential for victory.
The release date for the full version of SHIFU: Traffic Masters remains unannounced. Currently, the game does not support the Japanese language.
