Key information

Taiwanese developer maJAJa has announced that Dungeon Munchies 2 will launch in Steam early access on November 6, 2026. This sequel continues the formula of hunting monsters, cooking them into meals, and eating the dishes to gain new abilities.

Gameplay features several structural updates, replacing the previous weapon layout with a dedicated class system. Each class grants four active skills for greater build variety, while a new randomized loot growth system provides fresh experiences during each playthrough alongside traditional story progression.

Developers explained that while early drops can grant exceptionally powerful abilities, luck is balanced by a talent system and an additional stats progression mechanism designed to help casual players. The story follows the conclusion of the first game, meaning the zombie chef retains previous movement abilities like double jump and air dash as he heads to an alien colony.

The early access release allows the team to gather feedback, and the price will increase as content expands toward the official launch. Ahead of the release, the team organized closed offline playtests in Kaohsiung, with the third test scheduled for October 10.
