Producer Takatsugu Yamanaka announced that Phoenix Cyclops will join Marvel vs. Capcom as the first DLC character for the game's initial year pass. The character is scheduled to arrive on November 2.
Phoenix Cyclops, voiced by Ray Chase, features a unique combat style blending laser eye attacks with Phoenix Force abilities. Players can accumulate Solar Crystal energy through laser attacks to transform into Dark Phoenix, a state that significantly boosts power but causes gradual health depletion.
The development team chose this version of Scott Summers to offer a fresh visual and gameplay experience. To accommodate fans of traditional designs, the release will include Classic and Legacy DLC costumes, alongside a new Old School color palette available in a PlayStation Plus bundle.
Ahead of the release, the game will feature its first discount on the PlayStation Store for the Ultimate Edition. PlayStation Plus members can also access a 3-hour game trial. Attendees of EVO France from October 9 to 11 will have the opportunity to play the character early.
