Developer Battlestate Games has officially released the 1.2.0.0 update for Escape from Tarkov, introducing significant changes to the PvE mode. The update focuses on enhancing the core experience through a new progression system and refined artificial intelligence behaviors.

A key addition is the prestige system, allowing players to unlock six levels of progression. Each level grants unique rewards, such as the in-game currency TarCoin, which are permanently retained by the PvE character even after a profile reset.

The AI PMC logic has been overhauled to improve map distribution and tactical positioning near mission objectives. These AI units now prioritize attacking scavengers over fighting each other, and their equipment loadouts are now dynamically tied to their specific faction and character level.

Additionally, the EXFIL Brothers program encourages veteran players to invite newcomers. Participants can earn bonuses like experience boosts, in-game currency, and exclusive hideout items based on the progress and purchase status of their invited candidates.
