Check identity and revision
A Path of Exile build and a Path of Exile 2 build are not interchangeable. Start by checking the exact game, patch number, guide revision date and intended stage of play. A levelling setup can have different priorities from an expensive endgame showcase.
Compare the requirements
- List the essential skills, gems and equipment the guide requires.
- Separate required items from optional upgrades.
- Compare those requirements with what your character actually has.
- Read the official patch forum for changes since the guide was revised.
Check symptoms before changing a build
GGG’s 0.5.5e notes dated 6 October include a low-VRAM texture-quality option and fixes affecting area loading and some encounters. A loading problem and a build problem need different investigation. The patch does not provide benchmark results or prove that one class is strongest.
Ask a question others can reproduce
Include the installed patch, class, relevant gems and the encounter where the problem occurs. State your gear budget and what you have already changed. Keep a record of your passive allocations and items so you can compare one change at a time instead of replacing everything at once.
