Apex connection errors: distinguish code:net, leaf, clock and 429

Do not start with reinstallation when matches fail to connect or disconnect. Server responses, your network and your account require different checks. This guide combines the connection, login and version-mismatch sections of EA's error-code article with its general network advice.

Check the server first

Check Apex Legends and your platform on EA's server-status page. A confirmed outage or maintenance requires waiting for recovery. Live status changes; the publication date of this guide does not describe the server's current state.

Choose the next action by the displayed code

  1. 429: first check for server downtime or maintenance. If no issue is reported, restart the game and device and check updates.
  2. code:net / code:leaf: the server is not responding. Restart the router, try Ethernet and restart the PC or console. Persistent errors may need a server-side fix. PS4's wheel is a similar connection error.
  3. code:clock: the server stopped waiting for your connection. Check status, announcements and connection speed; try another data center and restart router/device.
  4. 110 / 102122: these can be temporary account or linking issues. Restart the game first. Persistent 110 also warrants server and connection checks.
  5. Already logged in on another device: wait briefly if you just logged out on another platform. Log out on another device if it is actually still signed in.
  6. Game version does not match host: install the latest patch. If Steam still shows download progress, wait until it finishes.
  7. Not permitted to play online: check for an account ban. If not banned, restart game/device and troubleshoot the connection.

Check your own connection in order

Turn off and unplug the router, then reconnect after about a minute. Compare Wi-Fi with wired broadband if possible. If wireless is your only option, check distance, walls/electronic interference, antenna and status lights. Your ISP can help change a crowded wireless channel.

Reduce background applications and correct the device's date/time. Unreliable DNS may justify another DNS service, but external DNS is not operated by EA. Follow the router manual and ask your ISP if unfamiliar with the settings.

Check whether the account is banned, deactivated or deleted; child accounts can have online restrictions. If another device is using it, check its sign-out; suspicious access calls for account-security support. For platform issues, check that platform's service status and cache instructions.

EA general connection troubleshooting: EA — Connection troubleshooting

Record the code, platform, time, data center and wired/wireless comparison for EA support. Connection codes differ from executable, graphics and anti-cheat errors: do not apply this sequence to every Apex error.
