Game creator Kotaro Uchikoshi, known for the Zero Escape and AI: The Somnium Files series, announced the establishment of a new company called CRASH KEYS. The company was founded in March 2025 and is based in Shibuya, Tokyo.
CRASH KEYS focuses on game development, including planning, direction, and scenario writing, as well as animation production. The company operates under the motto, "There are doors that can only be opened with a broken key," aiming to create original projects that challenge conventional frameworks.
Uchikoshi is recognized for his unconventional adventure games featuring complex branching structures, science fiction themes, and unpredictable plot twists. His work, such as the title Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, has received international acclaim, including nominations for Best Narrative at the Game Developers Choice Awards.
To support the development of these original projects and build a business foundation, CRASH KEYS is currently seeking investment partners. Details regarding future projects and business strategies will be announced as preparations are finalized.
