Ubisoft has initiated a new round of corporate restructuring, proposing the closure of its Finnish studio RedLynx and implementing staff reductions at Ubisoft Singapore. The potential shutdown of RedLynx, founded in 2000, could impact up to 52 positions, while 70 roles are affected at the Singapore location to align with future production requirements.

RedLynx is recognized for the Trials motorcycle racing series, which blends sports and puzzle mechanics requiring precise throttle and angle control. Since its 2011 acquisition by Ubisoft, the studio developed titles including Trials Evolution, Trials Fusion, and Trials Rising, alongside support work for Star Wars: Outlaws.

Ubisoft Singapore recently developed Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, which achieved over 3 million sales in its opening week and reached 99,000 concurrent players on Steam. Previously, the studio worked on the pirate title Skull and Bones, which faced a difficult development cycle and negative reception.

These actions follow broader financial challenges at Ubisoft, including the March 2025 spinoff of major franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry into a Tencent-backed entity. The publisher stated it remains committed to supporting affected employees throughout these transitions.
