Developer GOOD FUN CORPORATION has announced an upcoming Steam Playtest for its PvPvE extraction horror action RPG, HUNGER. Players can visit the game's store page to request access and apply for testing qualifications.
The playtest is scheduled to run from October 19 to October 26. The game is set in a doomsday-like Napoleonic era of Europe devastated by a severe plague, where players act as survivors who can venture alone or form squads of up to three to explore, loot, and survive in dangerous areas filled with monsters.
Utilizing a first-person perspective, players must use firearms for ranged combat alongside melee weapons such as axes and maces to fight back. Alongside wandering monsters, the PvPvE mechanics mean players will also contend with other hostile players across diverse environments including forests, villages, fortresses, and mines.
Before each expedition, players operate from a base known as the castle, where they manage loot, trade with merchants, craft and upgrade equipment, unlock facilities, and learn exclusive class skills and talent trees using collected materials.
