Developer usasan3 has released smoke.exe, a cyber-noir roguelite where players assume the role of a hacker in a digital city. The core gameplay involves constructing automated hacking routines by placing various nodes onto a 6x6 grid.

Players utilize 31 distinct node types, such as SCAN for generating signals and BOOST for amplification. Once placed, signals flow automatically through connected paths. Each run consists of five stages, with each stage comprising three hacking rings. Players must also contend with three bosses capable of directly interfering with the constructed circuits.

A unique mechanic centers on cigarettes, which serve as both the time limit and the resource cost for node placement. Burning time is consumed with every node added, requiring strategic management of how each cigarette is spent. Additionally, nine cigarette brands offer varying burn times and starting kits, though accumulating addiction levels can trigger unpredictable signal effects.

The game features 23 shop items, including whiskey and coffee, to assist players during runs. smoke.exe is currently available for Windows via Steam at a price of 1,150 yen, with a discounted price of 805 yen offered until October 20.
