Sapphire has issued a new vBIOS security update for its entire lineup of AMD Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards. This update, developed in collaboration with AMD, addresses a specific security vulnerability identified within the RDNA 3 architecture.

The update applies to a wide range of models, including the RX 7600, RX 7600 XT, RX 7650 GRE, RX 7700 XT, RX 7800 XT, RX 7900 GRE, RX 7900 XT, and RX 7900 XTX. Such firmware patches for GPUs are considered rare occurrences.

Users must have the AMD Adrenalin Edition driver installed before beginning the process. The update requires running an AMD Firmware Updater tool as an administrator. The tool performs two passes, operating in both regular and safe modes to finalize the installation, which necessitates a system reboot upon completion.

Following the update, users can verify the new firmware version directly through the AMD Adrenalin software. Sapphire recommends following their provided step-by-step installation guide to ensure the process is completed correctly.
