Publisher Crico has announced that its internal team, Reeecook Studio, is developing the roguelike deckbuilding and turn-based football game temporarily translated as Super Kickmen. The title is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of this year, and a playable demo is currently available on Steam.
Gameplay translates soccer decisions onto a 7 by 5 grid where players build a team using player cards to arrange tactics such as positioning, passing, dribbling, and shooting. Each match lasts approximately 6 minutes, requiring players to observe opponents and ball positions to plan their attack and defense.
The game features a single-elimination tournament structure where a loss ends the current run, allowing players to swap in new players and formations for a fresh attempt. Victories provide opportunities to recruit players within a limited budget, train squad members, and make roster decisions while progressing from regional events toward the global summit.
Developer Reeecook Studio consists of an internal team formed by Crico, blending indie game development engineering experience with backgrounds in game art and planning. The studio aims to combine the fun of soccer with the replayability of the roguelike genre as part of its ongoing original game development efforts.
