The Indie Stone's survival title Project Zomboid has experienced a significant commercial resurgence, selling 305,000 copies on Steam during September. According to data from Ampere Analysis, this performance placed the veteran game among the top ten best-selling titles on the platform for the month, outperforming numerous recent releases.

This success is attributed to the release of Build 42, the largest update in the game's history, which reached its stable version on July 29. The update introduces extensive changes, including a massive map expansion, new exploration zones, and a complete overhaul of construction and crafting systems. Additionally, the developers integrated animal husbandry, improved lighting, and enhanced technical aspects alongside a stable multiplayer mode.

Following the update, the game achieved a record number of concurrent players on Steam. User ratings have also improved, and the community remains highly active throughout September and into October. The title, which first entered early access in November 2013, continues to be developed as an early access project.

Project Zomboid is an isometric survival game set in a post-apocalyptic Kentucky. Players must manage basic needs such as hunger, sleep, and stress while scavenging for supplies, building shelters, and farming, either in solo play or multiplayer environments.
