Nintendo has officially launched update data version 4.0.1 for the racing title Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch platform.
The patch addresses several technical issues encountered when playing on the Nintendo Switch 2. Specifically, it fixes a bug where the quantity of course obstacles and item boxes incorrectly increased compared to standard Switch gameplay during online or local wireless sessions.
Additional fixes include resolving a problem where users could not select registered profiles when playing with two people. Furthermore, the update corrects a visual glitch where star pieces failed to appear on the Wii Rainbow Road track and resolves a crash that occurred under specific conditions.
Players must install this update to access online features. Once updated, users will be unable to engage in local wireless or LAN play with those still utilizing previous versions of the software.
