One More Level, the studio behind Ghostrunner, has released its Napoleonic soulslike title Valor Mortis on October 13, 2026. To coincide with the launch, the developer announced a significant optimization effort for the PC version, lowering the previously criticized hardware requirements.

The updated minimum requirements now list a Ryzen 5 3600 or Core i5-10600K processor paired with an RX 5600 XT or GTX 1660Ti, targeting 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second on low settings with scaling. Recommended specifications for 1440p at 60 frames per second on medium settings now require a Ryzen 7 5800X or Core i5-13400.

Vandal's analysis praised the game's distinctive first-person soulslike mechanics, which combine swordplay, ranged shooting, fire-based powers, and a grappling hook. However, the publication noted that the high hardware requirements were a significant point of criticism prior to this optimization, and it remains possible that the developer will continue working on further performance improvements.

Valor Mortis is available for 40 euros. While the PC version has received these performance updates, the title is also slated for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
