Ubisoft has rebranded its Creative House 2 business unit as Massive Entertainment, adopting the 29-year-old Swedish studio brand. The unit oversees Tom Clancy's The Division, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, and original intellectual property including March of Giants. The Swedish studio joins Ubisoft Toronto alongside teams located in Paris and Montreal within this organization.
The newly named unit takes clear responsibility for the long-term growth of its brands. Development teams across Montreal, Paris, Sweden, and Toronto operate under the Massive Entertainment brand to merge creative and technology expertise. Christoph Hartmann serves as General Manager after previously leading 2K Games and Amazon Game Studios.
The initial shift to the Creative Houses framework accompanied game delays, cancellations, and extensive cost-cutting following years of underperformance. This restructuring involved studio closures and worldwide layoffs, though the company declined to confirm if the process had finished.
