Independent developer Christopher Yabsley has unveiled Heathen, a first-person action RPG that recently saw its gameplay trailer surpass one million views within four days. The title aims to provide an immersive dark fantasy dungeon-crawling experience.
Drawing inspiration from the original Diablo, the game shifts the traditional isometric perspective to a first-person view. Players navigate through a classic structure consisting of a town and a dungeon, where they must battle monsters, manage supplies, and delve into increasingly deeper levels of the labyrinth.
The dungeon design features winding corridors with procedurally generated enemies and loot. Players can choose from classes such as the Mercenary, Executioner, or Acolyte, utilizing attribute points, equipment, and spells to customize their combat styles and character builds.
Heathen is currently in development for the Steam platform. While an official release date has not yet been announced, interested players are encouraged to add the title to their Steam wishlists.
