On October 15, 2026, publisher Game Source Entertainment and developer Ratata Arts officially released the rhythm roguelike action game Ratatan. The title is now available on PC via Steam, as well as on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Created by Hiroyuki Kotani, known for the Patapon series, the game features a unique blend of rhythm-based commands and roguelike mechanics. Players choose a unique Ratatan character and lead their followers, known as Kobun, through an unknown world. By inputting commands in time with the music, players direct their units to attack, move, or evade enemy threats while collecting various items to create powerful character builds.
The official release introduces significant content updates, including episodes 3 and 4, which bring the game to its conclusion with a final world and powerful bosses. Additionally, all of the antagonist Dark Ratatans are now present, providing players with new challenges. The game supports up to four-player online cooperative play, allowing users to experience the adventure together.
Pricing for the Steam version is 4950 yen. For consoles, the digital version is priced at 6160 yen, while the physical package version has a suggested retail price of 7018 yen. Development team members expressed gratitude to fans for their support since the early access period, which lasted approximately one year.
