Kodansha released a demo for their upcoming title, Catharsis: The Last Atelier, on Steam on October 15, 2026. The game is a walking simulator that invites players to explore ten distinct worlds inspired by famous paintings.
Players navigate through unique interpretations of artistic masterpieces to collect memories. The experience is designed to be relaxing, as the developer confirmed there are no time limits or game-over conditions.
The current demo features three specific stages based on works by Van Gogh and Millais. Users can explore areas inspired by Starry Night, Cafe Terrace at Night, and Ophelia, with each stage taking approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Following this release, the title is scheduled to be showcased at the Steam Next Fest, which begins on October 19.
