Developer ECHOFALL GAMES has officially launched a playable demo for its upcoming horror roguelite shooter, DEEPWARD, on Steam. This release coincides with the platform's upcoming Steam Next Fest, allowing players to experience the game's fast-paced and brutal combat mechanics.
The game is set in the 1920s within a cursed, god-forsaken land. Players navigate through various environments, including caves, prisons, ritual sites, and indoor spaces, as they uncover secrets buried deep underground.
Gameplay involves selecting a squad of three heroes from a roster of six unique characters. Each hero possesses distinct weapons, skills, and combat styles. Players must strategically switch between these characters to survive the dangerous depths, as failure results in permanent loss.
The combat system emphasizes rapid, violent FPS action. Players are encouraged to utilize a mix of shooting, kicking, and slashing, requiring them to adapt quickly during intense close-quarters encounters.
