Publishers Lichthund and Critical Role have officially announced that their upcoming rock-and-roll management RPG, Rockbeasts, is scheduled to launch in January 2027. This title represents Critical Role's second venture into the gaming industry, following their work on Dispatch.
The game focuses on a narrative-driven journey that tracks a band's progression from humble beginnings in a garage to achieving stadium-level fame. Players will manage various aspects of the music industry while engaging with a story brought to life by voice talent including Iggy Pop, Matthew Mercer, Sam Riegel, and Liam O’Brien.
A free playable demo is currently accessible on Steam, providing users with access to the first two episodes of the game. Developers confirmed that a third episode will be added to this demo specifically for the upcoming Steam Next Fest event.
Rockbeasts is currently in development for a wide range of platforms, including PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and both the Nintendo Switch and its successor, the Switch 2.
