The upcoming Riftbound set, Radiance, introduces a collection of rare cards centered on Riot Games music crossovers. Executive producer Chengran Chai noted that the team prioritized these musical themes early, featuring Overnumbered Heartsteel cards, SP K/DA cards, and the Overnumbered Ekko, Revolutionary.
Designers utilized K/DA All Out and Heartsteel 1.0 versions because the 2.0 iterations were not ready during the development phase. The Heartsteel Overnumbered cards incorporate Y2K elements, bright motifs, and stickers, with Signature variants featuring character-specific autographs.
The set includes an Ultimate Rare card, Battlefield: Packed Amphitheater, which appears in approximately 0.025% of booster packs, or 1 in 4,000. This represents a significant rarity increase compared to the 0.1% pull rate of the previous Ultimate Rare, Baron Nasher.
Radiance Pre-Rifts begin at local game stores on Oct. 16. While the set's complexity may challenge newcomers, it offers increased variety for established players. Booster boxes, packs, and vaults will be available for purchase on Oct. 23.
