S-Game has confirmed that its upcoming action RPG, Phantom Blade Zero, will include at least 50 distinct boss encounters. Qiwei Liang, the studio's founder and director, noted in an interview with 4Gamer that the final count could potentially exceed this figure.

These boss battles serve as a core component of the game's progression system. Defeating these enemies is the primary method for players to acquire a vast arsenal, which includes 30 primary weapons and approximately 20 secondary options. Each weapon offers unique movement sets and gameplay possibilities.

The developer emphasizes variety in enemy design, featuring combatants ranging from mounted warriors to shielded foes, all rooted in Chinese martial arts aesthetics. Notably, defeated enemies do not respawn, a design choice intended to ensure players consistently encounter fresh challenges rather than repeating content for materials or experience.

Phantom Blade Zero is scheduled for release on October 29 for PlayStation 5 and PC. Early impressions indicate that many bosses are optional, hidden within secondary paths throughout the game's environments, each offering distinct mechanics.
